Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharma)

A Diploma of Pharmacy (D. Pharm) is a foundational program in the field of pharmacy. This diploma is essential for registration to practice as a pharmacist in India. It focuses on understanding the properties and impacts of medicines and developing the skills necessary to counsel patients on their use.
In India, the Diploma of Pharmacy is commonly referred to as D-Pharm. It is a two-year program structured with annual schemes. Institutions offering pharmaceutical education (D.Pharm, B.Pharm, M.Pharm, or Pharm D) must be approved by the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), New Delhi.

ELIGIBILITY :

A pass in the 10+2 examination, intermediate examination, the first year of a three-year degree course, pre-degree examination, or an equivalent examination with Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects, along with either Biology or Mathematics.

CURRICULUM:

The 2 years D. Pharm curriculum is prescribed by PCI and has been divided two academic years, with each academic year spread over a period of not less than 180 working days in addition to 500 hours practical training spread over a period of not less than 3 months and in addition to industrial training and educational tour etc. as defined in the schemes of instructions and examinations and executive instructions issued by the University (RUHS) from time to time. The curriculum will also include other curricular, co-curricular and extracurricular activities as prescribed by the University from time to time.
